Shaye Poulton Richards is a composer, lyricist, and librettist telling stories that explore the whimsical and psychological aspects of day-to-day life with dramatic sensibilities.
A recent graduate of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, she was awarded a TL Innovation Award to begin development of her virtual reality song cycle ‘Upon A Mother’s Death’, a project set to explore empathy and grief in a 360° immersive setting.
She is interested in creating intimate, sincere, and specific musical theatre, as she believes specificity is universal, and sincerity is integral for pure intimate connection with the listener.
Shaye was a Round 3 recipient of the 2022/3 Francis Chagrin Awards.
