Ruth Lyon is a musician and disability activist from Newcastle Upon Tyne. Ruth was named as Sage Gateshead artist-in-residence 2020 and since has been championed by PRS Foundation, toured with the likes of Mystery Jets and The Futureheads, recorded with acclaimed producer John Parish (PJ Harvey) and performed at the prestigious SXSW (Austin, TX). Ruth’s music has been featured heavily on TV and Film, most significantly the end-credit title track for Ocean’s 8. As a wheelchair user, Ruth is an artist ambassador for Attitude Is Everything and Featured Artist Coalition and sits on the board of trustees at Sage Gateshead.
Ruth was a Round 2 recipient of the 2022/3 Francis Chagrin Awards.
