Kate Lynn-Devere is a deaf, autistic songwriter based in Herne Bay on the southeast coast of England, who studied music at Canterbury Christ Church University. After losing much of her hearing to Meniere’s disease beginning in 2012, Kate concentrated on lyric writing and collaboration with composer Emily Peasgood on projects including the 2019 Ivor Novello nominated song cycle “Never Again”. Kate is now turning her creative focus to developing chamber opera and music theatre intended for performance in intimate, black box spaces, exploring themes of loss, isolation and belonging.

Kate was a Round 2 recipient of the 2022/3 Francis Chagrin Awards.
