Janie is a composer and musician working mainly in the theatre medium. She’s created music for a range of companies including York Theatre Royal, Chichester Festival Theatre, Watermill Theatre, Vamos Theatre, Fevered Sleep and Apples & Snakes, and has performed nationally and internationally in festival, theatre and circus settings. Janie has a Masters in Studio Composition (distinction) from Goldsmiths College. In 2013, a viral infection left Janie with progressive hearing damage. She is learning to adapt her work and explore hearing loss as a positive lens through which to create music.
Janie was a Round 2 recipient of the 2022/3 Francis Chagrin Awards.
