An hour of eclectic new music, brought to you by Sound and Music.
This is the sixth episode of a seven-week summer takeover series, celebrating the 2025 Royal Philharmonic Society (RPS) Composers.
As heard on Resonance FM on Friday 11 July 2025 at 12pm and a repeat listen on Wednesday 16 July 2025 at 3am, hosted by Cameron Biles-Liddell.
Cameron Biles-Liddell is fascinated in music’s ability to convey narratives as well as using colour as means to articulate these stories. His music has been described as ‘quietly shimmering’ (Gramophone Magazine), Cameron thrives of close collaborations of all kinds, where he has recently written a new song cycle for Beth Taylor for an upcoming CD, as well as working with former royal-harpist Alis Huws for a new harp concerto with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
“What is colour in music? My music has continually asking this question and I’ve always been fascinated with music’s relationship with colour and music can convey this.
Whether that be rich orchestral colour, subtle timbral and vocal shimmers, or extra musical inspiration, all the pieces have some relationship with the idea of colour and sound – Enjoy!”
