Sound and Music welcomes three new Trustees to our Board

Last week at our final Board meeting of the financial year, we welcomed Cevanne Horrocks-Hopayian, SD, and George Hyde as the newest members of our Board of Trustees. Their diverse expertise—spanning composition, sound design, multimedia arts, equity advocacy, and music law—will strengthen our mission to be the base camp for anyone in the UK who wants to make, experience or support new music and sound to shape the modern world.

In the Making 2025 — Applications now open

Applications are now open for In the Making 2025—the UK’s only year-long artist development programme for talented young music creators and composers aged 14–18. It supports those passionate about composing in any form and is open to all, regardless of instrument, musical interests, creative goals, background, or location.

This series celebrates the exceptional composers who have been part of our programmes, showcasing their artistry and creative journeys.

Kicking off the series, British-Japanese composer, pianist, and producer Ben Nobuto offers his insights on music and career development. A participant in our New Voices 2021, Ben received vital support and mentorship, helping to shape his distinctive artistic path.
