Tŷ Cerdd – the official Welsh Section of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) – invites Welsh/Wales-based composers to submit their scores for World New Music Days (WNMD) Portugal (Lisbon and Porto) 2025. 

The theme of this year’s WNMD is “Thirst for Change” and the jury will particularly favour works that resonate with, or contribute to, the festival’s topic.ISCM World New Music Days festival is an annual international showcase of new music – representing contemporary work from across the globe, and this year it will take place in May and June (2025).

There are 14 categories for which submissions are invited to be presented at the festival. You can submit works by sending a PDF version of the score plus an audio or video recording of the work (if available), or audio/video documentation if the work does not have a written score.The submission process to the ISCM Welsh Section is free of charge and our panel will assess the submissions, and put forward six works as the official submission to the ISCM. As an ISCM Associate Member, our submission must cover at least four of the specified categories. A minimum of one of these six pieces will be selected by WNMD 2025 for a guaranteed performance.
