The BLiM Mentorship Programme is back!

With our second round of mentoring opportunities, we are welcoming applications from students and mentors for 2024.

The scheme will start in January 2024 and applications are open until 31st October 2023 to final-year music students of colour and music industry professionals. Each mentee will receive weekly/bi-weekly sessions, including face-to-face meetings and work experience opportunities. Access to career-enhancing activities, vocational opportunities, and more!

If you’re a Music Industry Professional wanting to support the next music industry generation, make sure you get your application in by 5pm, Tuesday 31 October 2023.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

We support the meaningful involvement of people of colour in grass roots musical tuition and activities as delivered through local Music Education Hubs.

Developing early relationships with conservatoires helps musicians to become audition ready, creates pathways into those establishments and supports their wellbeing.

Black Lives in Music wants to support mentees in realising their musical aspirations by actively providing vocational opportunities in all aspects of live music, including the areas of technical production, management, administration and performance.

MENTOR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Attend the program’s opening event.
  • Commit to at least one weekly/bi-weekly meeting with your mentee.
  • Aim for at least two face-to-face meetings during the 4-month program.
  • Connect your mentee to at least one opportunity.
  • Provide monthly feedback to BLiM staff.
