Writing about environmental issues: Wednesday 3 February 2021, 5-6pm
Writing for French horn: Thursday 4 February 2021, 5-7pm
Zoom, registration required

The 2020 soundfestival Composer’s Day will take place digitally spread over two events, each covering a contrasting compositional theme as featured in the soundfestival weekends in October 2020 and January 2021. The themes are writing about environmental issues led by composer Deirdre McKay and writing for the endangered instrument the French horn led by Tansy Davies followed by a masterclass of newly composed material for the horn performed and led by Ben Goldscheider.

These sessions are for composers of all different career stages and designed to provide some inspiring professional development in a relaxed and informal environment. Each session will include a presentation and a chance to ask questions and discuss ideas.

You can come along to one or both of these sessions. They are free to attend but we are encouraging people to make a donation to sound in order for us to continue to deliver professional development events like this in the future. Please see our website page on donating here.

sound will host the sessions on Zoom, and registration is required in advance to gain access to the Zoom codes.

If you have any questions or would like further information about the workshops please contact Ellen Thomson, Learning & Participation Manager by emailing: participate@sound-scotland.co.uk
