The PoppyHarp Composers Project, (formally the Future Blend Project), is a unique project that aims to increase repertoire for the harp, help composers better understand the intricacies of the instrument and create musical friendships that will can last a lifetime!
This year we have 5 incredible harpists ready to work with 5 composers on their music:
Bethan Conway (Wales)
Dr. Rosanna Moore (Ireland / USA)
Sophie Rocks (Scotland)
Erica Sinclair (England)
And myself Fran Barsby (England)
From May – October 2024, Each composer will work with one of our renowned harpists on their piece. At the end of the journey, each harpist will record a video of their composers music and it will be displayed on the PoppyHarp Youtube Channel. Each composer will also be offered the opportunity to sell their music on the PoppyHarp website.
It is completely free to apply.
You must be over 16.
All compositional styles are welcome.
The deadline for entires is is 31/03/2024
From the anonymous entries, our harpists will then choose 5 compositions and the successful composers will begin their PoppyHarp adventure.
You can enter as many pieces as you would like.
If unsuccessful you may apply the following year with the same piece if you wish.
