Chisato Minamimura is on the lookout for new collaborators!

Chisato Minamimura is a Deaf performance artist, choreographer and BSL art guide, born in Japan, now based in London. Chisato is working towards a new piece INPUT:OUTPUT, a performance experiment which explores our different sensory experiences of the world, doing so through the lens of Chisato’s unique deaf-led movement style, creative sign language interpretation and audio description techniques.

During a week-long residency with Britten Pears Arts, Snape Maltings, Chisato is looking to collaborate with a local sound artist from East Anglia (Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire) to further the ideas in this project. The residency week will culminate with a performance at the annual Festival of New where Chisato will share a work in progress showcasing the research developed during the week. Celebrating inter-disciplinary ideas, creative curiosity and brave artistic choices, Festival of New showcases projects exploring installation, electronics, costume, music, and dance in a range of development stages. In 2021, Festival of New took place online, you can watch it here: youtu.be/kJpFI365H5Q
