From 4-14 July, JAM on the Marsh returns to the unspoiled landscape of Kent’s Romney Marsh for its 11th festival.
The programme features a stunning array of international and local artists, lighting up the Kent coast with music, theatre, film, poetry and art. Unfolding in a variety of intimate locations; from the famous mediaeval churches to local gardens and steam railway carriages; JAM on the Marsh will bring the arts to unexpected places.
Embracing New York, Vienna, Soho and Canterbury, Festival Curator Nicholas Cleobury has created an unmissable multi-arts festival, guaranteeing unforgettable experiences. Highlights include performances by the London Mozart Players, internationally acclaimed tenor Mark Padmore and horn player Ben Goldscheider, the Holst Singers and Canterbury Cathedral Choir, as well as Simon and Saoko Blendis and Changeling Theatre.
The festival will also pay homage to former Romney Marsh residents Derek Jarman with a screening of his intriguing adaptation of War Requiem, a one-man play about the iconic artist by Mark Farrelly and the premiere of our new short operas based on his life and work, written by the participants of JAM’s Composers’ Residency during the festival.
