Shamica Ruddock is a visual artist and arts educator working between sound, text and moving image. With a background in cultural heritage, specifically archive, collections and community engagement, much of this experience has guided her artistic practice. Situated at an intersection between art and heritage, Shamica is interested in memory, the legacies we inherit and shared tools for cultural preservation. She is also interested in how communities exist and persist through sound, and notions of sonic autobiographies – both collective and personal.

In November 2022 Shamica was a recipient of a Sound and Music Seed Award – read a Q+A with Shamica here.
