We’re excited to share two new recruitment opportunities at Sound and Music and Music Patron. Read more about them below.
Music Patron: Composer Liaison Manager
Music Patron is an ambitious new online platform that will connect composers directly with patrons. The Composer Liaison Manager is a new role for Music Patron within Sound and Music. This is an exciting and evolving opportunity and we’re looking for candidates who are keen to join us on this start-up journey as we take Music Patron from concept to reality.
The successful candidate will care about improving the funding situation for composers; want to bring out the best in composers and help them realise their full potential; be thrilled about working with a diverse range of composers from a wide range of genres; have strong digital skills and an interest in new digital developments. The main focus of this role will be to work closely with composers to explore, measure and evaluate what great composer-patron interaction looks like. With that in mind, we are looking for candidates who are curious and entrepreneurial; who have great interpersonal skills, excellent project management skills and are data-driven.
Sound and Music: Head of Education
The Head of Education is a key leadership post within Sound and Music. The role encompasses responsibility for all aspects of the organisation’s education work relating to children and young people. It also forms part of Sound and Music’s senior management team, who under the leadership of the Chief Executive are responsible for overseeing the organisation’s programme of activity, strategic development, external profile and a positive and productive organisational culture.
The postholder should have exceptional skills, networks and experience in music education including composing and musical creativity, in formal and informal contexts, across different genres, and at every educational stage for children and young people. They will need to have proven ability in working as part of a team to problem-solve, creating and nurturing internal and external relationships, and a demonstrable commitment to diversity and inclusion in their work to date.
