We’re really pleased to share the news that our Head of Education, Judith Robinson, will be hosting a panel discussion at Music Mark’s first ever virtual conference, Play On: the Music in Music Education.
This session will build upon the findings of Sound and Music’s groundbreaking 2019 report #CanCompose, the first report of its kind in the UK, and seek to address three key questions:
- What do young people and their educators need so they can create their own, original music?
- How can the music education sector work together to make this happen?
- And why, in these challenging times does composing music matter more than ever?
Judith will be joined on the panel by Ruth Jones (Wiltshire Connect), Jenetta Hirst (secondary music teacher), Kirsty Devaney (Composer), and two young composers from Sound and Music’s programmes.
To listen in on this illuminating exploration on the future of composing in music education, you can book tickets for the Music Mark 2020 conference on their website.
