Today, we are excited to announce the launch of two new artist development programmes; In the Making, for young composers aged 14-18 and In Motion, for those aged 18 and over.
Our artist-led programmes will run annually and build on 15 years of expertise to create a dynamic space for individuals to design and embark on their own creative journey.
In the Making is a 12-month programme supporting 70 young composers to grow in confidence and expand their skills and creative ambition in an open and accessible environment.
This trailblazing programme supports anyone interested in working with music and sound through a diverse range of opportunities, which have been developed together with our Young Voices advisory group. These include our annual Composition School residential, online skills sessions, bespoke creative composing tasks and networking opportunities.
Applications for In the Making will open on 8 December 2023.
In Motion is an 18-month programme supporting 10 composers to experiment with new ways in how they make work and sustain their career.
Celebrating the curious and intrepid, this programme supports anyone over 18 working with music and sound in the UK through financial support, opportunities to explore new contexts for their work and guidance from accredited coaches and our expert team.
Registration for In Motion will open on 8 December 2023.
In the Making and In Motion will run parallel to each other annually. We strive to foster a creative community by connecting composers across both programmes and equipping individuals to share their creative knowledge, skills and opportunities.
We are guided by our Fair Access Principles, a code of best practice which ensures our work is open and inclusive for all.
