Pixie N. is a tuba player, pianist, and composer based in the Northeast of Scotland. She is interested in writing graphic and text scores. She also explores aleatoric music, electronics, and improvisation in her pieces. Pixie enjoys listening to and playing a wide range of music. Some of her compositional influences are John Cage, Caroline Shaw, Pauline Oliveros, and Regina Spektor. Weaving, the piece she wrote for the Sound and Music Summer School 2022, is currently her favourite piece she has written. It is a combines three different texts using a graphic score and is for three singers and a looping machine. She is currently working towards her bachelor’s degree in Music and is looking forward to trying new things and writing lots of new music.
