I am a classically trained non-binary baritone singer who is looking for song scores by transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse composers from across the world. A selection of these songs will be performed in a recital as part of the RETUNE festival in Oxford, run by the Alternative Canon Project and the Oxford University Music Society, in March 2025.
Up to two song scores of all styles (preferably for baritone voice range, or higher voice sung an octave below – can be unaccompanied or feature piano/keyboard accompaniment) may be submitted by composers from a trans/non-binary/gender-diverse background, with the aim that this recital will bring these lesser-known voices to more public performances.
There is no financial reward for this, but a recording of the live performance of each piece will be made and distributed to the composers to use as they wish.
