Calling all sound artists and sonic adventurers! Art Work Exeter’s River Radio will be hosting a River Jukebox as a part of our 60 hour broadcast in September! We are seeking audio pieces that are about rivers/ of rivers, which can be up to 60 minutes long. This is not a commission, but an opportunity to share your existing work with the world on a creative and cultural platform. Do you have an existing piece of sound art/ audio work/ field recording that you would like to contribute? We are open to all forms – from field recordings to glitch to spoken word. Requirements: 

  • Broadcast quality stereo or mono audio in m4a, mp3, AIFF or WAV file type.
  • From 60 seconds to 60 minutes long.
  • No obscenities or material with a religious or political agenda.
  • You own the rights to share this for broadcast.

To submit:

  1. Please send an email to engage@artworkexter.org.uk and let us know you are making a submission.
  2. Tell us about the submitted work in 50 words – which river/ what is the connection to rivers/ etc.
  3. Include a square image – this can be of you/ your river/ related.
  4. Label your files: YourName/TrackTitle.mp3
  5. Either drop your files into this Google Drive folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1yZUH4usDlRckUdbER4ptIyNOVPFHvJLB?usp=sharing

Or Wetransfer them to the email above. Please DON’T email the tracks to us directly. We will:

  • Feature the work in its entirety in the River Jukebox.
  • Share your description of the work in the downloadable River Jukebox programme which will also say when your work will be broadcast (BST)
