Britten Pears Arts is a pioneering music, arts and heritage charity based on the Suffolk coast. It was created in 2020 when the two long-established charities which formed the legacy of Britten and Pears’ life and work, Snape Maltings (formerly Aldeburgh Music) and Britten-Pears Foundation came together.

Assuming the leadership and mentoring of a relatively new team, this role will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of our artist development strategy across all strands of work: Aldeburgh Young Musicians, the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme and Residencies.

Candidates must be experienced, confident arts managers with a proven track record of managing and leading a team within the arts sector. The ability to think and plan strategically is essential. This role includes financial management and budgeting, working closely with other teams such as Communications and Development and networking, nationally and internationally. Continuing to embed artist development into all of our music programming is at the heart of our strategy.

This would be a great opportunity for someone who can use their experience to inspire others, who will give staff members the right level of freedom and support they need to flourish, whilst ensuring all work is being delivered on time and on budget.

Our preference is for this be a full time role, however, we are also open to discussing part time working with candidates who match our selection criteria. It is primarily office-based, although there can be some working from home/flexible working.
