APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN:
ORA Singers 2025 Graduate Composers’ Showcase
ORA Singers, the multi-award winning vocal ensemble, was founded with the aim to commission 100 composers in 10 years. With 76 commissions completed in 7 years, the group has fast become one of the biggest commissioners of choral music in the world and has reached millions of listeners with their 10 critically-acclaimed albums. Some of their commissioned composers included Sir James MacMillan, Errollyn Wallen, Roderick Williams, Joanna Marsh, Sir John Rutter, Bob Chilcott, and Shruthi Rajasekar.
The Graduate Composers’ Showcase is designed to kick-start the careers of young professionals, offering the chance for five Graduate Composers to add their name to this esteemed list and become professionally commissioned by ORA Singers.

Each Graduate Composer will receive a commission fee of £1,000.00 to write a new short piece which ORA Singers will perform and record in concert in front of industry guests at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in October 2025. Graduate Composers will also receive a professional video recording of their piece to help build their portfolios.
During the composing period, Graduates will have opportunities to meet with Director, Suzi Digby OBE, and the ORA Singers team over consultation sessions, where they can receive guidance on their queries. The professional singers in ORA are handpicked and are amongst the best in the industry, and Graduate Composers will have the unique opportunity to compose for ORA’s full cohort of 18 singers.
