Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame with cellist Eunice Koh
Vox Novus is calling for one-minute pieces composed for solo cello. Selected works will be premiered on Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame with cellist Eunice Koh in the beginning of 2025 with and online performance.
Only works one-minute in length for cello will be considered. Deadline for works is September 20, 2024
Eunice Koh is a firm believer in exploring various musical styles and genres. She is an advocate for world music and is constantly researching performance practices from different cultures. Composers are encouraged to borrow techniques and traditions outside western music. Composers are also encouraged to utilize ethnic music from their own background and tradition.
Guidelines:
-Deadline for works is September 20, 2024
-Works are for cello solo only no electronics.
-No works over one minute (60 seconds) will be reviewed.
-Works should be composed specifically for this call and performer.
-All pieces must be premieres.
-Multiple submissions are not accepted. Send your best work!
-Works need to be submitted online at www.MusicAvatar.org
-You will need to register with Music Avatar for free to submit your work online.
-After logging in to Music Avatar, select the opportunity named “Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame with for Eunice Koh” and press the “submit” button to start the submission process.
-You will need to provide a maximum 50 word biography and 50 word program notes.
-You will be able to upload a score as a PDF file (You are also encouraged to upload an audio realization of the work)
-Must include the dedication to Eunice Koh on the score.
-Performance notes should be included in the score.

Eunice Koh is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts at University of South Carolina with Professor Claire Bryant. She graduated from Southern Illinois University with her Masters under the tutelage of Dr. Eric Lenz, and received her Bachelor of Music with Honours from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts – Royal College of Music, under the guidance of Professors Zhao Yu Er and Amanda Truelove. A versatile and active cellist of the musical scene, Eunice believes in sharing memorable and diverse experiences with a global audience through the curation of engaging programs and cross-cultural collaborations. She is also passionate about sharing her experiences through teaching and learning with each student’s musical growth. Maintaining intensive chamber music activities and performing with different musical genres locally and internationally, are examples of her willingness to adapt and grow. Eunice is a firm believer of exploring various styles and genres of performing. She regularly performs and curates solo and chamber programs. She is an avid advocate for world music and is constantly researching on performance practices of different cultures.
