The Trustees of MMD are looking for:
A creative leader who is passionate about the development of new musicals and will build the membership of MMD and evolve its programmes with an inclusive and imaginative approach. The Executive Director is required to work harmony with MMD’s consortium partner Musical Theatre Network (MTN) and its Executive Director, James Hadley, on Joint Venture activities. This role would suit someone with experience in creative programming, fundraising for and producing events and knowledge of the processes involved in developing new musical theatre. It is a part time role, at 4 days a week.
Does your experience combine understanding of the subsidised sector with commercial thinking? Are you a self-motivated individual who cares about the development of new musical theatre writing and nurturing creative talent, with experience of event delivery and networking at all levels? If you are aware of industry trends, excited by the potential of an inclusive and diverse musical theatre sector, determined to champion the work of writers and raise the national profile of MMD, we want to hear from you.
The role demands flexibility and extensive partnership working with a range of stakeholders and funders; members need a whole variety of support and advice and at MMD we aim to listen and respond, as well as leading the way in forging opportunities that will transform the landscape of new musical theatre writing.
MMD is committed to inclusivity, diversity, and equal opportunities. We positively encourage applications from individuals whose identity, lived experience and/or cultural background is under-represented in the theatre industry.
