Are you trying to find your own way in the professional choral world? Imagine how much easier it would feel with a supportive team of experts behind you.
Apply now for National Youth Choir’s fully funded training and mentoring scheme for choral leaders and composers. With the help of world-class choral professionals and educators, you’ll build the networks, skills and video/audio assets you need to kickstart your portfolio career.
You do not need to have formal or classical music training to become an Emerging Professional Artist – just a passion for working with young singers to make great music. National Youth Choir actively encourage applications from people with backgrounds that are under-represented in choral music.
Our Emerging Professional Artist programme is a fully funded training scheme for early-career choral professionals. In 2026, we are offering two training pathways designed for Choral Leaders and Composers:
- The CHORAL LEADERS programme offers professional training for young choral conductors, educators and performers who are passionate about bringing people together to sing.
- The COMPOSERS programme supports young people who are committed to developing as professional composers, who love to write for vocal ensembles, and are excited about working with young voices.
