Galway City Council Arts Office invites sound artists to submit proposals for a grant to make a site-responsive artwork for the Galway Climate Festival 2024. We are offering the Sounds of Climate Change Grant to a creative practitioner working in sound, composition, sound and music, or multimedia to make an artwork for the festival.
The work will be instrumental in inspiring festival attendees. The brief is to evoke a strong response from the public which can correlate into climate action. Climate Inspirations will be the overarching theme of the festival.
Applicants will demonstrate experience and skills in producing temporary sound art in the public realm, an interest in climate themes, and will be available during the festival (12-14 September 2024). We welcome applications from sound artists resident on the Island of Ireland.
