The Ensemble brings together talented young folk musicians from across England. Sparks invariably fly when they create their own contemporary takes on traditional music from England and beyond.
These exceptional 14-18 year olds meet four times a year for intensive weeks of music-making, led by Artistic Director Jo Freya with other top musicians and educators, including Sarah Allen, Kuljit Bhamra MBE, Dave Gray, Raghad Haddad, Hannah James, Sarah Matthews, Camilo Menjura, Bevan Morris and others.
As part of the evening, Jo Freya will be awarded her prestigious EFDSS Gold Badge by Michael Morpurgo (author) and Clare Morpurgo of their charity Farms for City Children*.
The evening will open with our London Youth Folk Ensemble performing a short set of folk tunes led by their Music Co-leaders, Aaron Horlock and Maya McCourt.
