Nicole Raymond (NikNak) is an award winning storyteller who is developing her unique practice as a DJ & Turntablist, sound artist/composer, music producer, events promoter, lecturer/tutor, sound engineer and radio presenter.
She has also performed at festivals including Wilderness Festival, We Out Here Festival and she has supported Akala, Grandmaster Flash (twice), SEED Ensemble, Madlib, Lady Leshurr, Saul Williams, King Midas Sound, TY, Moses Boyd and many more artists.
Originally from London, NikNak/Nicole is currently based in Leeds and has become well known for her contributions to the music scene whilst continuing to expand her creativity into bold, new & exciting ventures.
In January 2021 Nicole received one of Sound and Music’s COVID-19 Composer Awards:
“It’s a great honour to have been selected for this award, thank you so much!. It means that not only can I add a new skill to my repertoire and spend time developing it into my work, but I can also create brand new works that will be experienced in stereo as well as surround-sound-capable spaces.”
