Luciano Williamson is a composer of bold, uncompromising and experimental music, creating experiences that are thrilling, highly engaging, often challenging, and unconventional. He has worked with the Nieuw Ensemble, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Psappha and many others, with performances on three continents.

Luciano studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, graduating (MMus) in July 2020, where he studied composition with Mark David Boden and Joseph Davies, and conducting with Tianyi Lu, supported by the RVW Trust, the Arts Council of Wales, and the Clive and Sylvia Richards Charity.

In July 2021 Luciano received one of Sound and Music’s COVID-19 Composer Awards:

“After Covid devastated my professional development last year, receiving this grant is a hugely important step to my recovery. This will enable me to work on a project with a clear end goal, and I’m incredibly excited to collaborate again with electric guitarist Huw Cheston on our next EP.”
