Bridie Jackson is a musician based in Newcastle, well known within the region and beyond for her work as a composer, performer and creative practitioner.

She also founded Bridie Jackson and The Arbour, an award -winning folk band who gained national recognition when chosen from 8,000 other bands to win the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Contest.

In June 2021 Bridie received one of Sound and Music’s COVID-19 Composer Awards:

“Being selected for this award is game changing opportunity, because it allows me to focus on a self -directed project that combines developing practical skills such as production, sound engineering, recording and editing, alongside the exploration of a creative concept that I’m passionate about. Everyone wants to create work that is unique to them, and the flexibility of this award allows for that and supports artists to have agency over their own careers and creative development.”
