Benjamin Oliver is a composer, conductor and jazz pianist. He is Associate Professor in Composition at the University of Southampton. Ben’s works have been performed by leading musicians and ensembles such as Paramirabo (Montreal), London Sinfonietta, Dorothy Chan (New York), Hannah Williams with Riot Ensemble, Yshani Perinpanayagam, Ivo Neame and Elizabeth Kenny. His music has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, released by labels Linn and Prima Facie, and his ‘Loop Concerto’ was nominated in the Contemporary Jazz category of the British Composer Awards 2017. Birmingham Record Company will release his first portrait CD, ‘Too Many Sweets’ in April 2024.

Benjamin was shortlisted to represent the ISCM British Section at the World New Music Days Festival 2024, in the Faroe Islands.
