Manchester based Andrew Brooks came to the attention of electronic music fans with early releases on Mantis Recordings and DiY. A debut album, You Me & Us, blended latent Chicago House and Detroit Techno influences with twisted pop melodies and sinister lyrical narratives. The follow up, Red Tape, was released on Matthew Herbert’s Soundslike Records, finding inspiration in Weimar cabaret and industrial machinery. DJ and live performances include Berghain, Berlin; Fabric, London and Sonar Festival, Barcelona. Commissions include ‘Yes Man’ for HOME, Manchester and audio-visual performances at Paradise Works, Salford.

In June 2021 Andrew received one of Sound and Music’s COVID-19 Composer Awards:

“This award is so valuable to me and I’m incredibly thankful to have been selected. The past year has allowed so much reflection on my creativity and the award has given me energy and focus to explore new pathways. Thank you!”
