Amy Beeston is a sound artist and audio researcher living in Orkney, a group of islands off the north coast of Scotland.

Amy has a background incorporating both artistic and scientific studies of sound, focussed on human and machine listening throughout. After school she began her studies in Physics (University of Oxford), before completing an undergraduate degree in Music Technology (University of Edinburgh). Amy  studied for her masters degree in Sonology (Royal Conservatoire, The Hague) and for her PhD in the Speech and Hearing Research Group (Computer Science, University of Sheffield).
