Haydar is a young musician and part of Sound and Music’s Young Composer Advisory Group, whose style is influenced by abstract genres such as glitch music, techno and IDM.
He started off singing in a choir with percussive performance (Cantate) and playing piano. He then moved on to making ambient and experimental music, with an emphasis on improvisation and sound creation using circuit-bending and recordings in nature, through local music workshop CLIP.
Haydar’s own music-making then focused on pre-existing genres, eg folk music, moving them into a very different context through synths, sound design and modular rhythm.
Currently, his compositional interest is mainly in electronic music, inspired by musicians such as FKA Twigs, Vaetxh/Rob Clouth, Woulg, Arca, Reid Willis and Moses Sumney.
