RIEKO is a Japanese-born artist and composer whose multidisciplinary practice is part of an ongoing mythological world-building project. Weaving ritual performance, experimental music, and collective healing workshops with curation and community building, her work prototypes alternative futures and cultural systems through oracular, artist-led intuition.
She is Founding Director of Diasporas Now, and a 2025-2026 artist in residence at the Institute of Contemporary Arts.
“Diasporas Now, a live art community, cultural agency, and record label for artists of the Global Majority, present a Sampler Mixtape for Sound and Music featuring live recordings and unreleased tracks by and for their extended community.
The genre-defying curation blends experimental production with avant-classical composition – a collective expression of visceral lament, queer desire, and diasporic futures.
This mixtape also features snippets from Diasporas Now’s, previous panel talk on bridging art and music, ahead of their collective takeover on 7 March at the Institute of Contemporary Arts. ”
