Katarina Ranković (b. 1994) is a Glasgow-based contemporary artist, writer and emerging composer working with voice, text and performance to create experimental songs and philosophical fiction. Her practice explores selfhood as something distributed and porous, often through persona-based performance and the “voicing” of non-human or fictional entities. She holds a PhD in Art from Goldsmiths (2023) and has presented work at venues including South London Gallery, Transmediale and Bloomberg New Contemporaries. With support from Sound and Music’s Essentials Fund, she is developing Aria and the Curtain, a new libretto for an opera about a sentient song conjured through human singing.
