A wild, immersive journey blending rock opera, punk-jazz energy and folklore. Sean Noonan, speaking drummer and rhythmic storyteller, leads a surreal odyssey where drums, voice and orchestra collide. This world premiere performance of The Drummer of Tedworth, featuring St Paul’s Sinfonia with conductor Darren Bloom, is a collision of musical forms, inspired lunacy and fearless orchestration.

The Drummer of Tedworth is the first full-length orchestral work composed for a speaking drummer at the drum kit — a soloist who narrates, sings, and improvises from behind the drums while leading a symphony orchestra.

A surreal ghost story turned metaphysical epic, the piece draws on punk-jazz energy, rock opera scale, and the logic of Theatre of the Absurd. It reimagines the concerto as a genre-defying monodrama — one where voice, rhythm, and storytelling collide.
