Daylight queerings with Maya-Leigh Rosenwasser, Rosie Middleton + Calliope

Arctic Circle’s Daylight Music has, for over fifteen years, become an important part of London’s live music scene, with a weird and wonderful mix of musicians presenting ideas and storytelling in music and sound, alongside delicious cake, in some of the most splendid and iconic venues.

Daylight queerings: A collaborative event series curated by composer/performer Maya-Leigh Rosenwasser and Daylight Music – they will share exciting new music and sound art that explores queerness in art making, gender expression and alternative ways of being

Maya will perform a collection of solo works for piano and electronics that explore femininity, playfulness and queering as a musical process. Joining them will be long standing collaborator and friend Rosie Middleton (composer/performer) whose incredible work explores artistic collaborations with other composers and visual/movement artists.

The third invited guest for Daylight queerings is electroacoustic performer Calliope. They are a lighting designer, theatre technician and experimental composer based in Leeds, whose music explores aspects of glitch, disintegration and the queer consciousness through modular synthesis and sonic visualisations.

“Daylight Music offers a chance to just drop in, listen to some wonderful music and soak up the venue’s lovely atmosphere.” – Time Out, 101 things to do in London

Pay-What-You-Can entry (we suggest £12) on the door, subject to availability/capacity. An event for all ages. As always with this series we endeavour to make our audience feel as safe, comfortable and welcome as we possibly can
