HighSCORE Festival is today’s leading Italian Contemporary Music Festival, presenting a unique and tailored artistic residency program for composers. Musicians are afforded the opportunity to engage closely with a distinguished faculty, accomplished visiting artists, and esteemed guests from across the globe during two intense weeks of masterclasses, lectures, workshops, and concerts. Participants enjoy the privilege of accommodation, meals, and studio space at the exclusive Italian-style Villa Penicina, nestled in the picturesque hills of Pavia. The upcoming 14th edition, scheduled for July 19-31, 2024, promises an extraordinary faculty lineup, including the esteemed guest of honor Helmut Lachenmann, alongside Amy Beth Kirsten (The Juilliard School, Curtis Institute of Music), Dmitri Tymoczko (Princeton University), and Nick DiBerardino (Curtis Institute of Music). The Italian MDI ensemble will showcase live performances of compositions submitted by resident composers. The files of the A/V professional recordings will be also shared with all the composers at the end of the festival and can be used by them as they wish. There is no application fee. The tuition is 2900 Euros. Interested applicants are encouraged to complete the application form and submit the required materials by March 29, 2024. Detailed information and application guidelines can be found on the festival’s official website.
