Join Wise Children’s Composer and Music Director, Ian Ross, to delve into the process of creating music for the stage.
Musical Themes in Storytelling will involve group sessions, an individual task, and one-to-one time with Ian to explore and develop your ideas and approach. All elements will take place online. You will end the course with the tools to tease out the themes of a story and create music from them, as well as an original composition of your own.
The course will run from Monday 16th January to Friday 25th January and involve 10 hours of contact time online. There will also be tasks to work on between sessions. Here is a provisional schedule for the course. All times are in GMT.
Who we’re looking for: We’re looking for brilliant musicians (aged 18+), who have already written some music. This course will suit those new to composing for the theatre or those who consider themselves to be ’emerging composers’ and who are ready to develop their practice with the School for Wise Children.
Wise Children are committed to equal opportunities and actively welcome candidates from all backgrounds. To remove barriers, School for Wise Children courses are free and wide-ranging access support is available.
