Luca is a jazz pianist, composer and saxophonist from West Yorkshire, and is a sound and music alumnus and young voices member. Having played piano since the age of 5 in, his work takes inspiration from jazz, folk, hiphop, classic rock and more! Important influences include Keith Jarett, Esbjorn Svennson, Chris Thile, The Beatles and Herbie Hancock. At the summer school, the opportunity to work with outstanding teachers and musicians led him to write his favourite piece, “The Magic Faraway Tree”, which was (somewhat indirectly) inspired by a Paul Klee painting.

Luca is studying principal jazz piano and secondary study sax at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music in his 6th year alongside A levels, and has ambitions to study jazz in London, and start a career to write and perform his own music with other creatives.
