Ailís Ní Ríains work has been performed worldwide and broadcast on BBC and RTÉ. In 2016 she was awarded the Paul Hamlyn Award for Composers. Ailís works in the areas of concert music, installation, music-theatre collaborating with writers, dancers, visual artists, filmmakers and theatre artists. Ailís has hearing impairments and has made work referencing deafness, disability and mental health since 2006. Her Debut Disc will be released by NMC recordings in 2023. Recent commissions include BBC Philharmonic, London Sinfonietta, RLPO, Ulster Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra. Ex-Arts Council England, she is on the Board of the Ivors Academy and Disability Arts Online.
