This session is for women who are curious about using field recording creatively but don’t know where to start. Whether they’re a musician, podcaster, sound artist or complete beginner, the workshop will cover:
- What field recording really is (and what it’s not)
- Inspiring examples of women using field recording in their work
- The gear you need (and don’t need!) to get started
- The unique feminist potential of field recording
- How to avoid overwhelm and actually begin
It’s also a taster for the upcoming final live round of The Art of Field Recording programme, so it’s a great chance for people to explore this path with no pressure.
