A sound performance about the voices and noises in the sea. Oceanic soundscapes blend with histories, mythologies and fantasies about our aquatic cousins. Featuring underwater microphones, hacked game controllers, motion trackers, a gargle-along theme song and a very lonely whale, [whalesong] is a celebration of the diversity of voices in the sea, and a challenge to humanity’s desire to control and own them. It’s a subversive, submersive theatrical sound bath that hates plastic and loves blowholes. So, blubber up – the ocean’s calling.
