Ushara Dilrukshan is a London-based, Sri Lankan multi-media performance artist. Her works tackle ideas of cultural identity, womanhood and trauma explored through narratives. The work aims to open up questions and start discussions about experiences of similar narratives and journeys through life. As an interdisciplinary artist, sound and performance are a centralised form. Utilising poetry, field recordings, body and soul; further explored through video installation, publication and noise opera, she offers an insight into these themes.

As a musician Ushara works within the intersection of instrumentation and live coding, blending this with her operatic training. She has recently performed for DIALLED IN at The Cause, composed organ works for Nick Turner’s documentary shown at Fountains Abbey (National Trust), and organ works for As of Right Now, a body-image performance at The Place.

Ushara additionally forms one-half of Cell Deletion 11, an experimental noise duo exploring narratives through performance and sound, utilising live coding and analogue tape loops to manipulate live instrumentation and vocalisations. Recent performances include the IRCAM Forum in Paris (2024), ISCIAN in Milan, SET, The Cause and Bath Fringe and Cell Deletion 11 are current Artists in Residence at Brompton Cemetary for 2025.
