Sam is a Manchester-based composer and performer making experimental music using found, homemade, and traditional instruments, as well as sound installations centred around the automation of acoustic instruments. Collaborative performance installation works have been performed at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Aldeburgh Festival, in Nonclassical concerts (Southbank Centre and St John’s Church, Waterloo), and broadcast on BBC’s New Music Show. As a Britten Pears Young Artist (2023-24), he wrote for Angharad Davies and The House of Bedlam. As part of the Ruth Sutton Fellowship, Manchester Camerata recently gave the first performance of Verse by Verse, a new work for orchestra.
