What is NYJC’s regional programme? 🎶
NYJC’s regional programme offers six one-day jazz workshops for young musicians aged 8-18. Young musicians get the opportunity to learn and play with the nation’s top professional musicians and composers using NYJC’s highly creative teaching method exploring a wide range of creative ideas.

NYJC helps young musicians:
Build confidence as an improvisor, composer and bandleader.
Compose and improvise new musical ideas.
Play melodies, grooves, hooky bass lines and riffs without notation.
Explore the most popular rhythms used in jazz, funk, Indian, folk, pop and rock music.
Become a stronger, more interactive band member.
Recognise the chords and structures in music they enjoy.

When will it happen? 📅
16th January 2022: 10am-6pm
6th February 2022: 10am-6pm
20th March 2022: 10am-6pm
3rd April 2022: 10am-6pm
8th May 2022: 10am-6pm
3rd July 2022: 10am-6pm
All workshops will end in a sharing session at 4:30pm open to parents/guardians

Final performance:
3rd July 2022: 4pm-6pm
