From November 2025 to October 2026, we will support 10 disabled people who are at an early stage of their careers in the music and live events industry. The programme will help develop their knowledge and skills with the aim to become confident industry leaders of the future.
The Future Leaders programme is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. It is for anyone who identifies as Deaf, disabled, neurodivergent or having a long-term physical and mental health condition, and is in the early stages of their career in the music and live events industry.
Areas we can offer support include:
- Accessing mentorship opportunities
- Understanding the variety of roles in the music and live events sector
- Learning how to become specialists in accessibility work
- Practical skills for freelance work such as invoicing clients or managing self-employment
- Opportunities to learn from senior figures within the music industry
- Being part of a supportive network of Future Leaders
- Opportunities to learn communication and media skills, and act as ambassadors for Beyond the Music
To ensure you get the most out the programme, we require you to commit to the following:
- Join a one-hour online Future Leaders network session once a month
- Engage with and support others in the Future Leaders Network
- Actively participate in the mentoring process
- Identify a goal at the start of the programme and work with us, as well as independently, to achieve it
- Take part in any evaluation opportunities for Attitude is Everything, our funders, or our partners.
