As part of Lovebytes Digital Spring, Sheffield artists Mark Fell and Mat Steel curate a day of intriguing and exhilarating sound and performance.

Starting in the beautiful setting of the Upper Chapel in the city centre and using an immersive 8.1 speaker system, Jana Winderen will present sound recordings from rivers in Greenland and Russia, the Coquet river in Northumberland, Göta elv in Sweden, and the river Ping in Thailand. Discover the unusual sounds of Cod, Haddock and Pollock as they are recorded in Norwegian fjords protecting their habitats.

Artist's Talk: Jana Winderen will be discussing her work in the Upper Chapel at 3pm, Saturday 24 March.

Access to the installation will also be possible during the evening event Pattern Discovery at Channing Hall on Surrey Street, another wonderful and rarely used venue. This is an opportunity to witness powerful sonic performance and improvisation from some of the most consistent and influential artists in experimental electronic music of the last 20 years including Bruce Gilbert, Russell Haswell and R/S.
