Screen Music Connect, an exciting new London-based conference exploring the world of film, television and video game music, along with the creative talent behind it, announces  its debut event at Southbank Centre’s Purcell Room on September 24. Created by James Hannigan, award-winning composer and co-founder of the sold-out Game Music Connect conferences, Screen Music Connect is aimed at the music production communities of all media industries – from pro, semi-pro and amateur composers from any background through to producers, engineers, music supervisors and audio directors – plus viewers, fans of soundtracks and anyone else with an interest in the evolution of screen music. The day’s one-of-a-kind programming will comprise of exclusive interviews, case studies and transformative roundtable discussions with an illustrious line-up of media composers and eminent industry executives exploring a wide variety of hot button issues and contemporary subjects including artificial intelligence-generated music, soundtracks and classical music, creative collaboration in film and television, interactive video game composition, and music for Virtual Reality, plus an intimate and unique live performance by composer and classical cellist Philip Sheppard (David Bowie, UNKLE, Queens of the Stone Age, Grace Jones, Jimmy Page, Jeff Buckley). Delegates are invited to meet and connect with other attendees during a post-show networking hour and attendees will be entered to win a sponsored prize bundle from online suppliers of virtual instruments, audio plugins & sample libraries, Time+Space.

Partnered with the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers & Authors (BASCA), the professional association for the UK’s music creators and the home of the prestigious Ivor Novello Awards, Screen Music Connect is also proud to be supported by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), and sponsored by COOL Music and ReelCrafter.
