Martin Read Foundation presents:

FREE OPEN WORKSHOP:

Composition and song-writing.

Sat October 14th 2017,

10am – 12, Martin Read Hall, Alton College, Hampshire GU34 2LX

Gwyneth Herbert, ex student of Martin’s at Alton College, wowed the MRF Festival ’17 audience with

her Song for Martin from her latest project: Letters I haven’t written. She also became a

Patron for MRF’s, joining distinguished composer & educator Howard Skempton.

Gwyneth returns to Alton College on Oct 14th in this FREE two hour practical workshop, exploring different

ways of writing for voice and piano. It will help anyone – of any age – who is interested in composition

discover new ways to create or develop compositional ideas. Participation is optional – just come along and

listen.

This workshop will also give composers age 14-19 insight into MRF’s annual scheme, applications for which

must be received by 31st Dec ‘17. While young composers don’t have to attend this workshop in order to

apply, it is strongly recommended. It will also be a great way to meet other composers and share ideas.

Register by Sat 7th Oct at: www.martinreadfoundation.org/mrf-contact giving your name, mobile phone

number and school or college as relevant.
